Device Reminders

Anyone who has to take medications or appointments regularly, can use device reminders to help them remember these appointments.

Device reminders are also useful if you’re trying to build healthy habits, like remembering to drink water.

You can create a reminder to sound at different times during the day and this will remind you to drink water.

Management Apps

Seniors have access to tech that manages habits such as taking pills and being active.

For example, the app Mango Health can help seniors remember when to take their medication. It can track how often you remember to take your medication.

Other apps can help seniors remember to stay active, like MyFitnesspal. You can set reminders in these apps to do whatever it is you need to do.

Then you go back and look at your history to see how well you’re following through with your habits.

Smartwatches

Smartwatches are great tool for building healthy habits and keeping yourself motivated. Many smartwatches have move reminders. These cause the watch to vibrate after you’ve been inactive for a certain period of time.

This is great for anyone who sits a lot because of a desk job. It’s also great for people who may become inactive. This inactivity will lead to health problems that make it difficult for them to move.

Many smartwatches also have the ability to set multiple alarms. With this you can remind yourself about other healthy habits.

It’s important to remember though, that in order for the technology to be helpful, you have to use it. Be sure to take the time to learn how to use different apps.
